SC-43 Oring with Drop Curb

When a regular O-ring just isn’t quite enough, this is an easy next step.

The 2.5" ring keeps the familiar feel of an O-ring, while the headstall ring, rein lock, and setback curb give you a quicker, more defined response when you pick up your reins.

The setback curb is what makes this bit especially useful for slow work and training. It allows you to begin introducing a horse to curb pressure without jumping straight into a longer shank or stronger setup.

Compared to a typical O-ring, the response is more immediate, but the overall feel stays simple and manageable. It is similar to the SC-143, just without the noseband.

Best For
Young horses learning curb pressure, seasoned horses that need a little more response than an O-ring, and slow work where you want clearer communication without adding much leverage.

Feel
Familiar like an O-ring, but quicker and more defined. The rein lock and setback curb bring the cue in sooner while keeping the setup fairly mild.

Rider Note
A really useful transition bit when you are ready to ask for a little more respect and response, but you are not ready to move one into a longer shank.
